The Hustler

Have you guys seen this movie with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason?
We saw this movie a few nights ago, and I was just awe struck by everything in it. The story, the picture, Paul Newman's performance, and most of all, the intense atmosphere that comes out of every single shot of the movie.
A GREAT movie to watch!

Have a great Thursday.
Cheers

Hey Pascal! This is great. I love all the characters in the background and the general moodiness. Fantastic. :)

I agree, it`s a great mood in this. And it also reminds me of another movie, a great movie that came some years ago called "Good Night and Good Luck!". Great movie in black/white film, have you seen it?

Great one!

The mood is indeed working quite well and I really enjoy the subtleness. Also the values work nicely.

I have my problems with the staging of the characters though. They are more or less next to each other and there is very little overlapping which would help with the illusion of depth. Also I think that the two characters leaning on their cues are distracting to the composition since their arms are pointing in opposite directions...

Keep it up though, I usually can't find that much in your other sketches - if anything. I am a big fan of your little animations.
